Harvesting Crop For The Needy - Aug 2015
Announcement Details
- 116,000 children in the Greater Triangle may not know where their next meal is coming from
- Inter Faith Food Shuttle rescues and supply food to the needy in North Carolina.
- Harvested crop included - Beans, Pepper and Tomatoes
- Services event planned for youth and their families to come forward and give back to community
- Volunteer to harvest the crop and help load on the IFFS Food Truck at one of the partnering farms
- Crop to be gleaned includes collards, beans, peppers, tomatoes
- Plan for Sat 8/15/15
--- 7:50 am - Gather at 107 Quail Field Court, Morrisville, NC; Enjoy donuts
--- 8:00 am - Depart for 'Tryon Road Teaching Farm' (4505 Tryon Road, Raleigh, NC)
--- 9:00 am - 11:45 am Gleaning at the farms
--- 11:45am- 12:15 pm – Picnic - cold drinks and snacks (bring to share)
--- 1:15 pm - Back at ICM; followed by Zuhr
- Note
--- Dress for warm weather. Hat, sun glasses and outdoor yard gloves
--- Stay hydrated at all times. Bring snacks to share
--- It will be lot of fun, while working to give back to the community
--- High school youth who want to get credits for volunteering can fill out the forms in the morning and IFFS will confirm these volunteer hours
